London to Amsterdam – Olympic Update

Go Girls Go!

Well done Lizzie Armitstead and Rebecca Adlington for getting Team GB off to a great start with silver and bronze medals. Commiserations to Mark Cavendish and the men’s team who were supported by some of the London to Amsterdam crew. The team decided to put an extra training ride in their schedule and ride from Wokingham to Dorking on Saturday.

This is what one of the riders Nathan Porter had to say about his 80 mile training ride for The Berkshire Cancer Centre.

“After cycling 40 miles to get to the Olympic road cycle race, anyone could make the mistake of cycling on the course! Okay, I did go through a barrier, but I thought it would be okay. I did get goose bumps when the enormous crowd started cheering me on. Really great. Being thrown off by security was worth it. Got to see the race at Box Hill before the 40 mile cycle home with a grim on my face.”
