Building upon our Privacy Computer blog we would like to show you how easy it is to send private text messages to your contacts. TextSecure is a free app available from the Google PlayStore that allows you to send encrypted SMS so that the receiver and only the receiver can read your message.

Open Whisper Systems who develop this have another app called RedPhone also available through the Google PlayStore. This allows you to make private phone calls. It uses your mobile phones data connection and is a great way to make phone calls when your minute allowance has expired and  encrypted too.
